Why Ski Local?
Did you know there are 33 ski mountains in Colorado, but only 18 are locally owned and operated?
Over 14 million people skied in Colorado in 2021!
Locally owned mountains are less expensive, less crowded, and more accessible to the public than most resorts, yet few people take advantage.
These locally owned mountains, resorts, and businesses make Colorado’s ski industry unique and deserve more support and recognition!

The Traveling Tacos
Taylor Cos, aka Tacos, runs The traveling tacos travel blog. Her love for hiking, camping, and our nation’s national parks started back in 2016. After a week long road trip to Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, and Carlsbad Caverns National Parks with her fiance, John, she was hooked.
Now, She writes about her experiences traveling all across the world. From the most popular tourist destinations to remote and unknown locales, her goal is to show how easy it is to get out and go.
The desire to inspire people to go somewhere they’ve never been played a big role in the decision to start ski local. Taylor and John hope to increase attendance to independently owned and operated ski mountains in Colorado by doing what they love to do: traveling, meeting new people, and sharing their experience.
